Building Leadership - Session Two

Welcome to the SCRHA leadership advancement training, which is a two-day session that will provide you with the knowledge and skills to support your leadership journey both at your organization and as an SCRHA volunteer.

The first day will focus on leadership skills in the workplace and the second day will focus on skills to lead groups, committees, task forces, and the Board by providing you an overview of SCRHA, our purpose, goals, operating structure, and other insightful details.

By participating in this session, we will do an in-depth exploration of:

• Leadership Styles – Students will examine different leadership styles (e.g., transformational, democratic, autocratic) to understand their own natural tendencies and how to apply various approaches to different team dynamics.
• Communication – Clear and effective communication is the cornerstone of leadership. This segment highlights essential communication practices and tips for enhancing your understanding of how these affect your team relationships.
• Goals – Leadership is about setting a vision and driving teams toward success. Students will learn how to set clear, achievable goals and guide their teams in working toward these objectives.
• Reflection – Participants will take time to reflect on their own leadership experiences, strengths, and areas for growth. This self-assessment will help them identify how they can improve and lead with greater impact.
• What Do We Do With This Now? – Finally, participants will consolidate their learning into actionable steps they can apply in their leadership roles. They'll develop a personalized leadership action plan to implement their newfound skills immediately.
• SCRHA history, bylaws, Vision, Mission, Pillars, structure, key policies, and more. 

This class aims to support well-rounded, thoughtful leaders who can inspire and lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
