Chula Vista Publishes Administrative Regulations for Tenant Protection Ordinance
The City of Chula Vista has finalized the administrative regulations for the new Tenant Protection Ordinance (TPO). The regulations outline some of the specific requirements for termination of tenancy notices, offering first right of return, and sending copies of notices and other information to the city when terminating tenancy. The delays associated with the publishing of the regulations have caused SCRHA to wait to make the termination of tenancy forms specific to Chula Vista available to members. SCRHA Successfully Pushes Back on State Legislation; Continues Pressure on Other Flawed Bills
SCRHA would like to thank members for contacting their state senators on pending legislation. Your efforts have already helped. SB 460, the bill to limit or prohibit criminal background screening, has been pulled by the author and is now a two-year bill. SCRHA has also had some other early successes. A bill, AB 1317 (Carrillo), that would mandate the unbundling of parking at multi-family properties, was also pulled by the author. AB 1097 (Rivas) was originally intended to prohibit credit screening for applicants with government subsidies but was recently amended by the author and now has a completely different subject matter.
