City of Oceanside Likely to Consider Tenant Protection Ordinance in Early September
SCRHA has been advocating against additional tenant protections and rent control in Oceanside. At a hearing this past April, city staff was directed to craft a tenant protection ordinance for consideration as well as options available to the city for a rent control ordinance. SCRHA attended that hearing and spoke against both proposals. While a draft Tenant Protection Ordinance will be deliberated, we do not believe the city will be voting on rent control but rather be presented with a report on rent control options and associated costs. SCRHA will notify members when a draft is available and a hearing is set. Make sure you are signed up for SCRHA Action Alerts so you can make your voice heard. In the interim, you may email the Mayor and Council at council@oceansideca.org with your concerns.
