San Diego City Council Informational Hearing on Tenant Protections

Legislative Updates,

As we flagged yesterday, the San Diego City Council will be hosting a special workshop this Monday, October 31, at 12 PM to discuss the creation of stronger protections for renters in the City of San Diego.

While no vote is being taken, the Council is seeking feedback on a framework document for new protections, which the City Attorney has responded to here.

We believe strongly that there should be collaboration and comprehensive input collected from ALL stakeholders and ask you to please attend the hearing to communicate the following:

What to Tell City Council:

  1. Input from ALL stakeholders is needed to ensure that San Diego's rental market remains accessible, equitable, and fair for all San Diegans.
  2. More outreach and dialogue is needed to ensure all parties involved with rental housing can develop real solutions that help residents.
  3. We’re eager to create more rental housing, but this is only possible if we work together.

In-Person: City Hall, 12th Floor, 202 C Street, San Diego, 92101. Simply fill out a speaker slip indicating you wish to speak on Item 601.
