County of San Diego Vector Control Program Funding Update

Please read below for information on the County of San Diego Vector Control Program and to learn about the proposed amount property owners will be charged in the coming fiscal year. 

The County of San Diego Vector Control Program invites you to learn how we protect the public from vectors like mosquitoes to keep our neighborhoods safe and healthy. We’ve created a short video to explain what we do and share details about our funding proposal for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

Vectors are insects or other animals, like mosquitoes, ticks, and rats, that can spread disease to people. Our program works year-round to protect San Diego residents from vectors. We also offer free property inspections, educational presentations, and tips to help you prevent mosquitoes and other vectors at home.

A portion of our funding comes from a benefit assessment collected each year through property tax bills. Our proposed update to this assessment for the 2025–2026 fiscal year will be considered by the Board of Supervisors, anticipated in June 2025.
