Reminder: Emergency Rental Assistance Programs Still Accepting Applications
SCRHA wishes to remind members that they may still apply for rental assistance on behalf of residents with rental arrears. Local programs have indicated they will continue to accept applications until funds are depleted. While most programs may only offer 80% of what is owed, rental housing providers are encouraged to take advantage of the assistance if they can operate within that framework. As of now, the law regarding COVID-19 non-payment of rent (SB 91) is still set to expire June 30. However, it is still unclear if there will be extensions and/or if the date for which housing providers may file to recover past due rent will be pushed back further (currently August 1).

SCRHA is pleased to offer a new form to help you with the rental assistance application process.
It will also help you document your rental assistance-related efforts since under SB 91 housing providers must demonstrate they made good faith efforts with regards to rental assistance in order to recover past-due rent. Visit the SCRHA Emergency Rental Assistance webpage for more information and to access the “COVID-19 ERAP Attestation Form.” You may also find the form (399) in the library of forms via the member portal.
