Industry Advocacy Leads to SB 436 Victory
Earlier this week, the Southern California Rental Housing Association (SCRHA) and the California Rental Housing Association (CalRHA) declared victory on Senate Bill 436, which would have extended the 3-day “pay-or-quit” period to 14 days and significantly delayed your ability to act when a resident fails to pay rent or violates lease terms. The bill’s author, Senator Aisha Wahab, has asked for SB 436 to be reconsidered, but absent Committee action that changes the vote, SB 436 will not move forward.
