Few Problematic Bills Survive SCRHA Advocacy and Deadlines

Friday, May 29, was the deadline for bills to get out of their house of origin. SCRHA had already defeated some of the most harmful bills with other opposed bills becoming victims of legislative deadlines. SCRHA continues its advocacy now that active bills are beginning the committee process in their second house. Primary Election Results

The Primary Election not only cleared a path for finalists in the Governor’s race, but it also narrowed down the field on several key congressional and local races. The City of San Diego Measure to tax empty second homes appears headed for defeat. SCRHA will be monitoring races and considering possible endorsements as the General Election approaches.

City of San Diego Rental Fee Ordinance Hearing Rescheduled for Late June

The Residential Rental Price Gouging, Fee Exploitation, and Cost Transparency Ordinance, which was scheduled for an informational hearing on June 19, but pulled at the last second, is expected to be rescheduled to June 30. SCRHA will keep members updated and share more when the council agenda is released.
