San Diego Council to Review Draft Rental Fee & Transparency Ordinance

On Tuesday, May 19 at 2:00 PM, the San Diego City Council will be presented with a draft of the Residential Rental Price Gouging, Fee Exploitation, and Cost Transparency Ordinance. The draft is being presented as an Information/Discussion item, meaning no vote will be taken. However, this is a crucial time for housing providers to make their voices heard as the councilmembers will be providing feedback. SCRHA has already raised concerns about almost all components of the proposal and how it will impact housing providers and the way they do business. Click here to read the draft. Lemon Grove Council to Provide Direction on Tenant Protection Ordinance

Also on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:00 PM, the Lemon Grove City Council will receive a report from city staff who will provide feedback from recent tenant protection workshops and the Planning Commission. The council will decide if they wish to create a local ordinance with greater tenant protections or continue to allow the California Tenant Protection Act to cover renters in Lemon Grove. SCRHA will send out an Action Alert once the agenda is posted.
