San Diego Supervisor Aguirre Wants Additional Tenant Protections
At a recent Housing Workshop, Supervisor Paloma Aguirre indicated that additional tenant protections should be a part of future county housing discussions. This was also mentioned in a recent Voice of San Diego article, where she was quoted as saying, “We hope it would complement what Chula Vista and Imperial Beach did.” No specifics have been made available. This comes on the heels of Supervisors Montgomery-Steppe and Aguirre presenting a proposal to regulate rental fees. SCRHA is very concerned by these attempts to overregulate the industry and the patchwork of laws these proposals will lead to. Make sure you are signed up for SCRHA Action Alerts so you can make your voice heard in the new year on these proposals and more!
