From NAA: The Hidden Cost of Regulations: How Policies Are Driving Up Rent
A new study conducted by economists from MetroSight – sponsored by the National Apartment Association (NAA) and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) – shows that some housing regulations increase the cost of rent, particularly for lower-income renters and those renting from small multifamily properties. This report builds on findings released earlier this year, revealing that overregulation can increase operating costs. Read more.
City of Oceanside to Vote on Tenant Protections, Sept. 3
The City Council is scheduled to consider a draft Tenant Protection Ordinance at their September 3 meeting. SCRHA testified against additional regulation back in April and remains opposed to additional tenant protections. More details will be available when the agenda is released next week.
