Legislative Update - January 30, 2026
Lemon Grove Emergency Tenant Protection Ordinance Update
SCRHA is still seeking confirmation that an ordinance will be presented on the Tuesday, February 3, agenda. That may not be confirmed until tomorrow when the agenda is formally released. SCRHA has reached out to city staff for more information and is waiting to hear back. Make sure you are signed up for SCRHA Action Alerts so you can receive more information and instructions on how to make your voice heard once the agenda and draft are made available.
Indio Rental Inspection Ordinance Update
As reported last week, the City of Indio, seeking to address exterior blight, gave initial approval to a Residential Rental Inspection Program that moves away from the existing complaint-based approach. The proposal is still pending final approval. If approved, registration will be tied to each property’s Long-Term Rental Permit and will be managed and paid through the same online portal the City already uses for long-term rental permits. Property owners will receive an email update with the timeline, step-by-step instructions, and additional program information. SCRHA will be working with city staff to disseminate more information once it is available.
